The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has taken a major step towards boosting Maharashtra’s logistics sector by announcing plans to develop an Integrated Logistics Park (ILP) in Navi Mumbai. The authority has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Phase 1 of the project, marking the beginning of a large-scale infrastructure initiative.

The proposed logistics park will come up on around 924 acres of land near Chirle Village in Pushpak Node. The project aims to create a modern logistics ecosystem with essential infrastructure, social amenities, common facilities, and utility networks. Officials believe the development will significantly improve the efficiency of goods movement in the region.

Navi Mumbai is already emerging as a key logistics hub due to its strategic location. It is close to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. In addition, connectivity is being strengthened through major projects like the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, the proposed Multi Modal Corridor, and the Dedicated Freight Corridor.

CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal said that Navi Mumbai’s strong infrastructure and location advantages make it a natural hub for logistics and related industries. He added that this pilot phase will help unlock the region’s full potential and position it as a logistics center of national importance.

The ILP project is also aligned with the Maharashtra government’s MIDC Pass-through Policy. A detailed Master Plan has been created, dividing the area into seven logistics zones. These zones will be connected by a well-planned road network, including 45-metre and 30-metre wide roads.

As part of Phase 1, CIDCO has invited bids for 12 plots spread across 179.29 acres in Land Parcel L1. The authority will provide trunk infrastructure such as roads, water supply, sewerage systems, and storm water drainage.

With India’s logistics sector growing rapidly due to e-commerce, manufacturing, and trade, this project is expected to attract investment, generate jobs, and support long-term economic growth.
