YEIDA questions Jaiprakash Associates plan to clear land dues in HC

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has questioned in the Allahabad high court a plan by Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) to clear dues that led to the cancellation of 1,000 hectares allotted to the construction company off the Yamuna Expressway.

On February 12, 2020, YEIDA canceled the land allotted to JAL for developing a Sports City along the expressway. The company subsequently approached the high court, expressing its willingness to clear all the dues. The developer had also sought to submit a resolution plan for completing the residential projects.

Both parties, however, have submitted contradicting amounts as land dues. While YEIDA has said JAL owes it Rs 3,621 crore, the company has claimed the outstanding amount is no more than Rs 1,483 crore.
