
Despite various surveys presenting a rosy picture of the Telangana real estate market, especially in and around Hyderabad, there has been a lull in the realty sector going by the number of property registrations in the last one year.
Officials and people associated with the real estate sector said this could be due to skyrocketing land prices, rising property costs and forthcoming assembly elections.
The state government has earned more revenue through property registrations than the previous year though the number of transactions has come down. Revenue through registrations increased due to a hike in land market values, an official said. However, since January this year, there has been a dip in the revenue, he said.
