Karnataka people will soon have a handful of housing options as 7.06 lakhs of housing developments are in line.
The Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation targets building 7,06,290 houses from 2020-2021 to 2022-2023. Around 68,177 have been finished to date.
On Wednesday (13th July), Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said, "The total target is for constructing 7,06,290 houses, out of which 3,68,177 houses received approval for the construction, and out of which 68,177 houses have been completed. As many as 1,19,090 houses are at various stages of construction, while 1,77,868 houses are yet to begin construction, and 3,042 houses have been held up due to various reasons".
He added that around 1,05,267 houses were also targeted in the PM Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Housing Scheme. Out of 1,05,267 houses, 99,218 were the ones to get the approval, and the rest 10,148 were finished. Approximately 60,277 houses are still under construction.
Zameer Ahmed Khan further informed that 78,325 houses are finished in the A category, and approximately 1,79,367 houses have progressed. 2,06,661 houses are yet to be completed. Around 3,042 houses are blocked because of no interest from beneficiaries and several other reasons! He also said that for both of the schemes for housing construction, Rs. 3,961.01 has been allocated.
