A total of 119 commercial private properties like Hotel Golden Tulip, Ramgarh Fort, Holiday Inn, Vintegrate Technology Private Limited Sector 22, and St Teresa Public School Sector 25 owe Rs 38.66 crore as property tax to the MC, said MC commissioner Sachin Gupta. He also directed officials to act tough against property tax defaulters. Tax amounting to Rs 32.19 crore is pending from 46 government properties, including UHBVN, HSVP, Tau Devi Lal Stadium, and Gymkhana Club Sector 3.

"In total, MC has to collect Rs 70.85 crore property tax from 165 such properties, which owe Rs 10 lakh and above property tax. Directions have been issued to officers concerned to seal defaulting properties that do not clear property tax dues in 15 days. Those whose property tax pending is more than Rs 10 lakh should be given notice," the MC commissioner said.

On Friday, Gupta held a meeting at the common facility center in his office, which was attended by joint commissioner Dr. Richa Rathi, deputy corporation commissioner Apoorva Chaudhary, zonal taxation officer Akash Kapoor, and other employees.
