More than 30 million homes have been constructed under the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) program, which includes both rural and urban areas. It is worth noting the fact that PM Modi has prioritised attending the "Griha Pravesh" ceremonies of these houses, highlighting the significance of timely completion and delivery of such projects. Prime Minister Modi has been a part of a few similar events in the past, including those for four lakh and two lakh beneficiaries in Rewa and Tripura, respectively.
In October last year, It was observed that Prime Minister Modi attended a video conferencing event for 451,000 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (rural) beneficiaries in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. In November, he inaugurated 3,024 EWS flats in Kalkaji, Delhi for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers.
This announcement comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Gujarat, where he is scheduled to hand over 19,000 houses to beneficiaries under the same scheme.
He also took part in an event for 4.51 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (rural) in Satna via video conferencing in October 2020 and inaugurated 3,024 EWS flats in Delhi for rehabilitating slum dwellers in November of the same year.
