Under sections 420, 406, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, the FIR has been registered against a Delhi-based real estate builder for cheating and fraud.

On 9th October, the Delhi court ordered the registration of a FIR against the builder for fraud and criminal breach of trust for deceiving a person of Rs. 1.3 crore between August 2019 and July 2021 for selling a property in Bara Hindu Rao. Masud Alam complained against Mohammad Gulfam Qureshi and Anshul Goel for pressuring and threatening him to pay them the amount or he will have to lose the advance money of Rs. 10 lakh. However, MCD sealed that specific property later on.

Masud Alam said, “Qureshi represented that he had extensive goodwill and experience in building construction line and being a man of repute in the said field, he would develop the said property, including the third floor with all fitting, fixtures, flooring, etc, in a time bound manner”.

After meeting the accused and knowing the deal, Masud Alam consented to buy that property worth Rs. 1.3 crore and pay them an advance of Rs. 10 lakh in August 2019. Then, Mohammad Gulfam Qureshi held up the construction but continued pressuring Alam to pay the rest of the amount for the property, or he would have to lose Rs. 10 lakh and even the agreement would be cancelled.

Later, in September 2021, Musad Alam considered visiting the property site and learned that the Municipal Corporation had already sealed the property there. After confronting Qureshi and Goel, they said they would get the property cleared soon, but even after so many requests by Qureshi, the property was de-sealed.
