Bihar's new e-mapi portal streamlines land measurement. Apply online, track status, and resolve disputes easily—a step to bring transparency and efficiency for landowners.
Bihar's Revenue and Land Reforms Department has introduced the e-mapi portal, enabling landowners to apply online for accurate land measurements. Minister Alok Kumar Mehta highlighted that this initiative eliminates the need for landowners to visit offices, bringing convenience.
To access the portal, landowners simply register online with their land details and phone numbers. The circle officer verifies the land details, issues notice to surrounding landholders and schedules a date for measurement. Mehta emphasised that objections can be raised before the concerned circle officer.
The government has set a fee of Rs. 500 per plot for rural areas and Rs. 1,000 for urban areas. The entire process should be completed within a maximum of 30 working days. Additionally, a 'Tatkal' facility has been introduced for short visits, with fees of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 2,000 for rural and urban areas, respectively, ensuring completion within seven working days.
Minister Mehta assured that amins will measure a plot within two days, and the concerned circle officer will make the report public on the portal. Importantly, landless individuals provided land by the state government for housing will benefit from free measurement services.
