Karan Johar is a well-known Bollywood film industry personality, director and producer. He is also known as a screenwriter and reality show judge. He has directed some blockbuster movies, which has been a turning point in his career.

With his hard work and ambitious vision, he succeeded in building a luxurious duplex house for himself and his mother in Mumbai. He and his mother, Hiroo Johar, with two kids, Roohi and Yash Johar, and his pet, Nobu, live in this house.

Karah Johar constructed his house in the heart of Mumbai, Bandra, and his residence has been a popular spot for most Bollywood parties and events. He lives on the 14th floor of an apartment on Carter Road, Bandra, in Mumbai.

His duplex sea-facing house is spread over 8000 sq ft and is located in the posh locality of Mumbai. The approximate cost of the house is Rs. 30 Crore. He purchased this apartment in 2010, and it was designed by Shah Rukh Khan's wife, Gauri Khan.

The terrace stands out as one of the most delightful areas within the house. In the featured image, the terrace resembles a spacious charcoal grey table or a well-crafted bar adorned with lights at the base and right side, primarily designed for nighttime use. This is the same place where the Johars were spotted taking part in the Junta Curfew, where he was seen banging thalis along with their house help.

Entrance

The interior design of the entrance is the source of tranquillity and peace within Karan Johar's residence. He designed the gate with a white backdrop complemented by gentle wooden accents, imparting a welcoming ambience and inducing an immediate shift in mood upon reaching home. The well-matched combination of light wood frames and marble structures contributes to a well-balanced and inviting aesthetic for the entire area.

Living Area

Karan Johar's living room is well-lit in radiant light during sunrise. This is due to the installation of expansive glass windows stretching across the ceiling for proper ventilation and allowing sunlight to pass through. Adjacent to these windows is a compact designer bar station featuring chairs. The living room is adorned with flooring resembling dark grey marble, and a wall showcases a design reminiscent of red marble.

Dining Room

The dining room looks elegant with mirror-plated flooring, expansive windows, a ceiling adorned with wood panelling, and attractive interiors. He has placed a sleek, glossy black dining table in the dining room surrounded by grey chairs; the table is decorated with a vase, and a modern chandelier hangs above it.

Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the room with abundant sunlight. The walls are designed with toys, and a sizable flat-screen television occupies the centre spot, serving as the family's entertainment place for movie nights. He has a deep green leather sofa in his living room that adds to the beauty of the dining room.

Staircase

The staircase connecting the two floors of Karan Johar's house is made of wood and brass materials with a glass railing. At an intersection point, a giant painting coloured black, white, red, yellow, and blue hangs on the wall.

Bedroom

Designer Simone Dubash Pundole did the interior designing of KJ's bedroom. The bedroom features a well-crafted sleigh bed in deep green leather and dark wood, complemented by a luxurious tan leather armchair, an ash grey couch, and a bookshelf filled with trophies awarded to the director-producer.

The room has a sitting space in a corner with sofas and rugs. The washroom is adorned with a Pristine white Jacuzzi placed against black tiles, with a small screen for watching movies. His bedroom is a perfect blend of modern, tranquil and classy ambience.

Kids Room

Gauri Khan specially designed the kid's room, which stands out as the most lively area in the home, featuring ivory interiors. An expansive all-white closet and a spacious mustard-coloured couch are placed against the nursery's contrasting dark wooden flooring.

The room has jungle-themed decals, numerous stuffed toys, foam carpets, printed cushions, mini chairs, and stickers. An arched bookcase and furniture pieces crafted from PVC add a unique touch.

Kitchen

The kitchen is designed with brown and beige tones of tiles, cabinet doors, flooring, and kitchen countertops. The kitchen has a well-organised layout and a spacious place to work efficiently. The kitchen top exhibits a light brown-coloured marble with elements that gleam when illuminated, accompanied by dark-coloured grain details. The cabinets, crafted from high-quality materials, harmonise with the tiles adorning the small section of the kitchen walls.

House Bar

The bar is constructed lavishly to cater to its guests most luxuriously. On one side of the room, there is a separate space for the bar with a spacious sitting place. The dark backdrop in the bar section is designed with light-coloured sofas. The carpet, blending light and dark hues, provides a lively feeling, creating a vibrant and enjoyable spot for chilling with friends and drinking. The bar top is adorned with orchids placed in an elegant white vase.
